Tuesday Shoesday: Snow Shoes

OK. A little earlier this winter I was really wanting snow. I really wanted to take a walk while the flakes fell gently all around. I wanted to make snow angels and go sledding, do some skiing, make a snowman.

I'm all over that now.

Despite the Cape having been spared the brunt of these weekly (literally, weekly) storms, an obscene amount of snow has fallen this year. All you in Connecticut? The suburbs of Boston? I'm really sorry. Really.

But I'm going to put on a brave face (and a pair of these) this Tuesday Shoesday because Puxatawny Phil said spring is just a few weeks away, and I'll probably miss the snow when it's gone.

Summer is back with a vengeance, for at least another few days.

In so many ways, Labor Day is the end of summer. School is back in session, the summer people go back to their winter homes, the Cape becomes quiet again.

I love September and am looking forward to the onset of fall, but I can't help feeling the need to pack in as much summer in these next few days as possible.

So, for this final Tuesday Shoesday of Summer 2010,  the cutest flops to flip around in at a clambake rehearsal dinner, while getting mani/pedis, for some serious post-dinner dancing, the day-after brunch, or just  because:

I love the color orange....the color of sunsets, of mimosas and Veuve Clicquot labels, of my favorite all-time purse.  I have come *this close* to painting my kitchen orange but lost my nerve. (Someone give me the courage!)

I love orange in the fall, even when it borders on looking a little 'jack-o-lantern.' But my favorite orange is the late-summer orange that still packs a citrus punch.

These are the perfect orange shoes. They might just be the starting point of a whole orange-tinted Shoreside wedding.

A Chill in the Air

Maybe it's because tonight is bit on the windy & cool side - a rarity in the midst of this crazy-hot summer.  Or because I made comfort food mashed potatoes & meatloaf for dinner. More likely it's because I spent a few hours today helping one of the most wonderful people on the planet plan her October wedding, which will be filled to the brim with all kinds of warm, cozy, fall wonderfulness.

For whatever the reason, I can't get these embroidered pashminas out of of my head.

NBA finals series is all tied up. Game 7 tonight. (Right now, actually.)

I'm all tied up with this sailor's knot bracelet, too. It's like what you wear at summer camp. Bridesmaid gift? Very casual rehearsal dinner attire? Not sure where it fits into the Shoreside wedding, but I love it.
